In 2019, we lost our son to suicide. He was only thirteen and was another victim of the growing mental health crisis among our nations youth. We, like most parents, were unaware of the daily struggles our son faced. It wasn't until after our son's passing that we became aware of the alarming and rapid increase in the rate of teen and pre-teen suicides. Suicide is now the second leading cause of death among our youth after accidents. We have made it our mission to increase awareness of this epidemic so that we can prevent future tragedies. To help accomplish our mission we have partnered with the Hope Squad, a peer to peer based suicide prevention program.
Our goal is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma, and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide.
A Hope Squad in every school.
